This webinar is part of the History You Missed series that covers topics often left out of history texts and classes. The need to justify slavery led to the creation of several enduring myths about Black people. Many of these stereotypes are still prevalent in our nation, with devastating consequences. This session will take a glimpse of ways those myths have impacted the lives and livelihood of Black people. It will share some ways to identify the mythology in action in your faith community, and then provide some pointers toward sustainable changes to confront whiteness and bigotry, inside and outside the church walls. Is your organization ready to become radically inclusive, but you aren't sure how to get there? Our Classes for Transformation will guide your community to open to the spirit of transformation. Each session will include an interactive program that will lead to deeper discussions and greater connections within your community - not to take a single vote, but to a place where continuing metamorphosis can happen.
