A New Vision with Learned Experience

As part of this shift, The One TransVersal Project will launch a new initiative: building a stronger network of trained leaders that commit to ongoing transformation and educating more leaders, like Our Whole Lives for radical inclusion.

These trained leaders will receive formation in:

  • Gender and sexuality education across the lifespan

  • Antiracism and decolonial frameworks

  • Trauma-informed spiritual care

  • One-to-one pastoral conversations

  • Navigating and responding to harm when it occurs

  • Building systems of accountability and repair

Deeper Commitments

not just a check box

These leaders will not be volunteers for a committee, but will be trained to become transformation doulas, trained to walk with congregations through the long arc of birthing change. They will be embedded in the life of the community, offering resources, support, and guidance long after any certificate is hung on a wall.

This approach moves beyond older frameworks like Building an Inclusive Church, which often ended with a vote or a public statement, and did not prepare communities for the sacred and often messy work that comes after the banner is raised.

The One TransVersal Project replaces checkbox inclusion with covenantal transformation, because the work of inclusion doesn’t end with the welcome, it begins there.

The first module will form this fall. Upon completion, leaders will be provided with the first Small Group curriculum learning module and additional materials to take the information back to their congregation.

We recommend that this curriculum be completed by at least three people in the congregation to launch.
